Betty Ivie Bennett

Betty Ivie Bennett, 78, of Chatham, VA, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Morningview Assisted Living in Greensboro.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, *January 20th*, 2024 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  A reception and gathering will follow the service at the Morehead-Fair House next door. A private burial will be held at Lawson Cemetery in Eden.

Betty was born June 9, 1945, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late William S. Ivie, Sr., and Hilda MacDonald Ivie. She was a member of Leaksville United Methodist Church in Eden. Betty spent two years at Salem College and two years at University of North Carolina – Greensboro, earning her Bachelor’s in Education in 1967. She worked for the SASS Institute in Raleigh, NC, until her retirement in 2010.

Surviving are her brother, William S. Ivie, Jr., of Chatham, VA; niece, Christie Bussey of Birmingham, AL; nephew, Justin Ivie of Chicago, IL; great-nephews, Ethan and Colin Bussey, and great-nieces, Lily and Olivia Bussey, all of Birmingham, AL.
