Bertha Mae Kimball Land

Bertha Mae Kimball Land, 100, of Eden, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 4, 2012, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, December 8, at Overlook Cemetery.

Mrs. Land was born October 12, 1912 in Spray, NC; daughter of the late John Hillary Kimball and Jenny Davis Kimball.

She is survived by her son, John William "Bill" Land and wife, Frances of Eden; one granddaughter, Kimberly Powell of Cascade, VA; four great-grandchildren; niece, Ruby Murray and family of Newark, OH; and special friends, Charles and Karen Yarbrough of Eden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher "Bub" Land and her granddaughter, Sharon Land Stanley.

There will be no formal visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caregivers of Rockingham County.
