Beatrice Rodgers

November 29, 1939 — February 4, 2017

Beatrice “Bea” Edwards Rodgers, 77, of 1318 E. Meadow Road passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Kindred Hospital with her loving family surrounding her. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Haywood Alcorn officiating.  Interment will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.  

Mrs. Rodgers was born on November 29, 1939 to the late John Junior Edwards and Molly Underwood Edwards.  She retired from National Textile and was affectionately known as “Killer Bee”.  She was of the Baptist faith. Bea enjoyed sewing and playing cards.  She also enjoyed watching her great-grandson play Baseball, watching her great-granddaughter perform in plays and spending time with her trusty sidekick, Brystal.  

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyte Rodgers; and her beloved pets, Dusty and Gizmo.

Mrs. Rodgers is survived by her daughter, Carla Corum and husband, Ronald of the home; granddaughter, Bridget French and husband, Bryant of Eden; great-grandchildren, Bailey Redd, Braxton French and Brystal French all of Eden; brother, John “Tenny” Edwards and wife, Pat of Eden; half-brother, Pete Hankins and wife Martha of Reidsville; five aunts and uncles including her special aunt, Sunshine Hudson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Glenda Blackwell, Shiann Baker and Brenda Roach; and her “boys”, Jackson and Zoey.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Rodgers memory to either Morehead Memorial Hospital Foundation; Attn: Torrey Goard; 117 East Kings Highway Eden, NC 27288 or Kindred Hospital; 2401 S Side Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27406.
