Barry Edward Bateman

Barry Edward Bateman, 65, of 152 Roberts Rd. passed away Wednesday afternoon May 11, at the Eden Brian Center. The Funeral Service will be held Friday 1pm at Osborne Baptist Church with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Fair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements Mr. Bateman was born January 14, 1946 in Eden, NC to the late Edward and Irma Jones Bateman. He has been an active member of Osborne Baptist Church for many years. He attended Highpoint University where he achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and attended the University of Tennessee under the Masters program. He graduated from A&T University achieving his Masters in History, and his Masters in School Administration. He retired from the Rockingham County School System after 33 years of service working as a teacher and Assistant Principle. He is survived by his wife Sharon Kendrick Bateman of the Home, 1 son Chris Bateman and wife Chanda of Dalton, GA, 1 daughter Ashley Morgan and husband Rodney of Eden, 1 brother Mark Bateman, four grandchildren, Carley and Cameron Bateman, of Dalton, GA and Caleb and Connor Morgan of Eden, and a special cousin Bill Jones, Jr. of Knoxsville, TN. The visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at Osborne Baptist Church, and at other times at the home.
