Barry Benton Chaney passed away on July 3rd at UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation Center. He was 74 years old.
No formal service will be held due to Barry’s request.
Barry was born December 6, 1951 to the late Melvin Chaney and Faye Bolick Channey in Rockingham County. He served in the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department in Wentworth before going to the City of Eden as a Police Officer. His favorite past time was to listen to the multiple scanners distributed throughout his home.
Barry is survived by his wife Susan Ford Chaney, brother Jerry Chaney of Eden; nephew, Neil Chaney of Eden and cousin Jamie Chambers of Eden.
