Barbara Jane Dallas

Barbara Jane Dallas, 87, passed away Friday, January 19th at Camden Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, NC.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 24th at 11:00am in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Reidsville, NC.

Barbara was born October 17, 1936 to the late Herbert Dallas and Charlotte Thomas Dallas in Leaksville.  She was a graduate of Wentworth High School in 1955.  After high school she worked for Southern Bell Telephone but shortly decided she wanted to be a nurse.  She attended Rockingham Community College. Barbara was trained for nursing in Danville, VA. She worked in various locations before she became the head nurse at Dorthea Dix Hospital in Raleigh, NC.  She was a member of the North Carolina Baptist Nursing Fellowship.  Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church in Eden where her grandfather, James Dallas, was an active member.  She made many mission trips and lived in the homes of the people where she was ministering.  The Ukraine was one of those countries.

Left to cherish her memories are a brother, John T Dallas (Jacquelyn) of Greensboro; nephew’s Matt Dallas and Randy Dallas; niece’s Alyssa Dallas of Durham and Robin Mecimore (Doug); two great nephews and three great nieces.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Francis Dallas and Calvin Dallas.
