Barbara Hatcher Smith

Barbara Hatcher Smith, 82, of Eden passed Sunday, August 28, 2022 at UNC Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 361 Mt Carmel Church Rd, Ruffin, NC 27326. A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00pm Friday, September 2, 2022 at Fair Funeral Home in Eden, NC.

Barbara was born December 12, 1939 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Everette Leonard Hatcher and Nellie Mangrum Hatcher. She was a graduate of Morehead High School. Barbara was a member of Draper Pentecostal Holiness Church. She worked as a lab technician at Va. Solite until retirement.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sherri S. Jarrett (Jay) of Woodstock, VA, Kimberly S. McEwan (Scott) of Eden, NC, Lisa S. Wall (Derek) of Madison, NC; brother, Jimmy Hatcher (Melinda) of Eden, NC; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers, Marie Clifton and Delores West.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in her death by her husband, Willie Leonard Smith.
