Barbara Bowman Travis

Barbara Bowman Travis, 64, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Eden Estates in Eden, NC. A gathering of the family and friends will take place from 6 pm to 7 pm on Saturday evening, November 5, at Fair Funeral Home. There will be no formal service. Ms. Travis was born March 1, 1947 in Newport News, VA, daughter of the late Moir Virgil and Maisie Pierce Bowman. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her son, Cecil Travis and wife, Kristy of Eden; five brothers, Jim Bowman of Washington State, Buddy Bowman and wife, Gayle, Ricky Bowman, Billy Bowman and wife, Lori, and Roy Bowman, all of Eden; sisters, Rosemary Garrett and husband, Larry and Joyce Bowman, both of Eden; and eight grandchildren, CJ Travis, Foster Travis, Harley Travis, Hannah and Jacob Mamun, Ky'Aris Travis, and Karia Travis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Travis; daughter, Teresa Travis; and grandson, Joseph Draughn.
