Argie Lee Pyrtle Cox

Argie Lee Pyrtle Cox, 87, of 2525 Highway 135 in Stoneville, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 7, at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Cox was born May 11, 1927 in Stokes County, NC , to the late Jessie D. and Bessie Cofer Pyrtle. She was a graduate of Leaksville High School, Class of 1944. Argie worked for A & P Grocery for 30+ years and later at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by sisters, Alma P. Reynolds of Eden, Eloise P. Pruitt of Stoneville, and Mary Lou P. Champion of Eden; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Faye Rickman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cox ; her step-daughter, Faye Cox; brothers, Armor Reese Pyrtle and Glen Pyrtle; sisters, Martha Pyrtle Ledford and Vernice M. Rakestraw.

The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Eloise Pruitt, 2525 Hwy 135 in Stoneville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, 471 Stone Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
