Annie Wilson Grubbs

Annie Wilson Grubbs, age 89, passed away peacefully late Friday night, March 22, 2019 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Fuqua officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.  The family will only meet for visitation one hour prior to the service (1 -2pm). 

Mrs. Grubbs was born on May 27, 1929 in Axton, VA to the late Frank Wilson and Hattie Ferrell Wilson.  She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Guerrant Springs Baptist Church in Reidsville.  Annie retired from Fieldcrest Mills with over 30 years of loyal service.  She was very content with her life and enjoyed working in her flowers, sitting out on the front porch relaxing in the sunshine, working her puzzles but most of all she loved to spend time with her loving family.  Mrs. Grubbs will be greatly missed by all that knew of her kind heart and loving spirit.

Annie is survived by her loving family, her sons, Bobby Grubbs and wife, Cheryl of Madison, Jim Grubbs of the home; her six grandchildren, Angie Gourley and husband, Jonathan of Eden, Alicia Vernon and husband, Jason of Eden, Jennifer Grubbs of Eden, Cheyenne Grubbs of Eden, Terry Grubbs and wife, Tracey of Ridgeway, and Amanda Gusler of Madison; eight great-grandchildren, Megan, Breanna, Hannah, Kallie, Jordyn, Kaleb, Haylee and Harley.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Lee Grubbs; son, Richard Wade Grubbs; nine siblings and step-daughter, Phyllis Quesinberry.
