Annie Opal Barnes Ferguson

Annie Opal Barnes Ferguson, 81, of 817 Forest Lake Drive in Martinsville, VA, passed away Monday evening, May 24, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, May 27, at White's Chapel Baptist Church in Ridgeway, VA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ferguson was born July 19, 1928 in Ridgeway, VA, daughter of the late Jerry and Annie Odell Barnes. She was a member of White's Chapel Baptist Church. Surviving is her daughter, Kim Ferguson of the home; brother, Thomas Barnes and wife, Ann of Wilmington, NC; sisters-in-law, Peggy Carlisle of Danville, VA and Jacqueline Coleman of Eden, NC; brother-in-law, Harvey Lester of Stoneville; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Ferguson; and three half-sisters, May Wilson, Alma Thacker, and Mattie West. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM at White's Chapel Baptist Church and other times at the residence.
