Alton Taylor Clark, Sr., 70, passed away Monday morning, March 23, 2015, at Brian Center in Yanceyville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 27, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Glenn's Chapel Church Cemetery. Rockingham County Veteran's Honor Guard will perform military rites at the graveside.
Mr. Clark was born May 1, 1944 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Lynn Clark and Annie Rakestraw Clark. He was a US Navy veteran and the former owner and operator of Carolina-Virginia Spray Booth.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Clark of Eden; daughter, Sherri Clark; son, Alton "A. J." Clark, Jr.; two grandchildren, Angelia Renee Fredericks and Amanda Bolick; great-grandchild, Tyler Fredericks, all of Eden; four sisters, Gaynell Bolick and husband, Preston, Ann Hatcher, both of Stoneville, Estelle Smith and husband, James of Sandy Level, and Jean Nelson and husband, Steve of Charlotte; and brothers, Sanford Clark and wife, Carolina of Kernersville and Jimmy Clark and wife, Vickie of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Clark and sister, Ivadell C. Neal.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of Sherri Clark, 168 Windy Road in Eden.
