Almeria "Susie" Dehart Brooks

Almeria "Susie" DeHart Brooks, 78, of 823 Grand Oaks Drive, Eden, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 18, 2012 as a result of a car accident. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 21, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danview Cemetery. Mrs. Brooks was born July 4, 1933 in Leaksville, NC, daughter of the late Grant Owen and Irene Light DeHart. She was a member of Osborne Baptist Church, however, she grew up as part of Riverview Presbyterian Church. She was part-owner of A & B Pest Control. Surviving are her husband, Gene Brooks of the home; son, Johnny Laws; daughter, Debbie Laws Kallam and husband, Jeff; step-son, Courtland Brooks and wife, June; grandchildren, Bradley Brooks Laws and wife, Liz, Brooklyn Odell Burroughs and husband, Ryan, Courtland Brooks, Jr. and wife, Crystal, and Angela Marsh Johnson; great-grandchildren, Savannah Gray Laws, Jaylon Brice Warren, Ryalyn Brook Burroughs, Bradley Brooks Laws II, Bentley Douglas Burroughs, Kirsten Nicole Robertson, Aubrey Madison Laws, and Skylar Brooks; and sisters, Bettie Ann Brackner and husband, Leon of Alabama, Patsy Brown and husband, Sheldon of West Virginia, and Judy Belle DeHart of Pennsylvania. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, 1 to 2 PM, at Fair Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
