Alene Hylton Meade

Alene Hylton Meade, 86, passed away Friday morning, May 21, 2021, at her home.

 A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 26th, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (12 Noon to 1 PM) at the church.

 Born September 1, 1934 in Leaksville, NC, Alene was the daughter of the late Homer Kyle Hylton and Rosa Lawless Hylton.  She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Alene worked for Cone Mills and later was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.  After her retirement she worked for Fleet Master Trucking Company, Morgan Drive Away and Quality Drive Away.

 She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Franklin Meade of the home; three children, Debbie Meade and Kathy Armstrong (Mickey), both of Eden and Terri Durkin (Tony) of Locust; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brothers, Buster Hylton and Buddy Hylton, both of Eden.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Meade; four sisters and one brother.

 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1151 Virginia Street, Eden, NC  27288
