Albert Bryant Sumner, Sr.

Albert Bryant Sumner, Sr., 96, passed away early Monday morning, January 30, 2012, at Morehead Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, February 1, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Sumner was born September 19, 1915 in Martinsville, VA, son of the late Lewis Carl Sumner and Cordia Burcham Sumner. He was a member of Spray Baptist Church and was an US Army veteran. Mr. Sumner retired from Karastan Rug Mill. Surviving are his wife, Lucinda Leffew Sumner of the home; son, Albert B. Sumner, Jr. of Aberdeen, NC; step-daughter, Brenda M. Denny and husband, Reggie of Eden; four grandchildren, Chuck Denny and wife, Kristine, Diana Denny and Mark Ferderer, Caleb Sumner and Mariah Sumner; and two great-grandchildren, Zack and Andrew Ferderer.
