Alan Kent Wood

Alan Kent Wood, 60, of 511 Payless Road in Reidsville, passed away Thursday evening, March 30, 2017, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, April 2 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at The Morehead-Fair House.

Alan was born February 12, 1957 in Leaksville, NC.  He worked for Golden Corral Corporation for over 20 years in Mississippi, Texas, then back to North Carolina.  Alan loved to spend time at Philpott Lake, camping, boating, fishing and teaching his son, nieces and nephews to water ski.

He is survived by his son, William "Bill" Kane Wood and wife, Khori of Charlotte;  parents, George "Bud" Wood and Sarah Hankins Wood, of the home;  sisters, Diane Peyton and husband, Dennis of Plant City, FL and Karen Noakes and husband, Randy of Midlothian, VA;  nieces and nephews, Melissa, Kristin, Lorie, Jason, Kaley and Tyler;  and great-nephew, Lincoln.

Alan was preceded in death by his brother, John Wood.
